A neck cream should be a part of everyone’s anti aging regimen, but sadly, it’s not. While the concept of a neck firming cream is a rather new one, most people who have tried one of these amazing products sees drastic improvements in the areas commonly referred to as the “decollete.”

One neck cream we’ve seen great consumer reviews on, as well as a top selling product in it’s niche at Amazon.com, is the “V-Covery” Cream by EliteSkin, a frequent advertiser here at Simply Skin Magazine.

Here are many advantages you can see for yourself by using a daily neck firming cream.

Remodel the contour of the lower face, jaw line, and decollete.

Dissolve fatty deposits

Tighten the skin

Tone, tighten, and increase overall elasticity

Form a protective barrier on the skin

How does this all happen?

Well, for starters, the neck is an area that is under-cared for by many of us, even those of us who keep the tightest skin care routines around. When you don’t pay attention to this area, anything can happen. For starters, you should use sunblock. This will prevent 90% of the damage on your neck to begin with. Sunblock is the key to any protection from the sun, of course, but most people omit the all-important neck area, leaving a “farmers tan” to show off and a patch of loose skin for the world to see years later in life.

A top neck firming cream can help treat this area, and help not only tighten the skin, but treat deep skin wrinkles. If you are a person who suffers from what they call “turkey neck,” then certainly you know what I am talking about. The skin becomes frail, loose, and starts to flail around like a turkey’s gobbler when the wind blows.

With consistent application of a good neck firming cream, (look for one with LipoCare as an ingredient which will read as “butylene glycol” on the label) you can expect more firm, tighter skin in about 30 days. Be sure to use as directed, as the top ranked neck creams we have seen call for use twice daily. It’s important to use as directed, just like any other skin care product.

If you are looking for an amazing deal on a neck cream, and want the value-add of other products, perhaps you should look at the anti aging super-system by EliteSkin, the Age Defying System. Offered in this site are the Elite Eye Serum, the V-Covery, and the Elite Wrinkle Eraser, which is a deep wrinkle serum you can use on the deepest skin wrinkles. It’s a good value if you are looking for even two of the three products, and you can’t beat saving that type of money for high quality cosmeceuticals.

If that doesn’t make you want to vacuum, I don’t know what will!

This is a true fact, as reported by Jen Adkins on About.com, a skin care column we follow closely. It’s no secret that your body sheds skin cells quite frequently and very rapidly. Dead skin flakes off rather easily, sometimes without any contact. The only thing that you can do to cure dead skin cells is to exfoliate.

According to The Boston Globe, 30,000-40,000 skin cells fall off you per minute, and on average 8.8 pounds of dead skin cells fall off your body per year, as stated on About.com.

The only thing you can do is exfoliate on a regular basis. This is a simple skin care step that forces dead skin cells from the surface, leaving below a shiny, clean surface free of dead, discolored skin cells.

Some ways you can accomplish this include products designed to get rid of skin cells, such as the ones used when you get a pedicure. You can also use a product version or exfoliate, as they are often called. These are typically sold in a gel or cream form with hard, granular bits of a solid surface that will work to push away and remove the dead skin cells. You can find skin products that work in and out of the shower.

Another way to get rid of dead skin cells on the face is to use a mask. Many of the best masks out there use the dead sea mineral to provide nutrients the skin needs to hydrate and become more polished. Usually a mask is worn once or twice per week and left on the face for up to twenty minutes, and then removed with warm water.

Whatever you choose to do to get rid of dead skin cells, be sure you do so on a weekly basis. You never know just how many of those dead skin cells are floating around your house!

Age spots and what some people call “sun spots” can be a serious nuisance to the skin and make even the healthiest looking person appear years older than they actually area. Before I can delve into just how you can get rid of age spots, it’s probably beneficial to explain how you can prevent age spots.

The sun is the biggest single source of causing age spots and other forms of semi-permanent skin damage, especially on the face and neck. Your pigmentation can change quite rapidly due to overexposure to the sun, and it’s something that builds up over time as you spend hours, days, and eventually, weeks basking in the sun, whether it is on purpose or not. Some people will go outside, lather up with oils and creams, in an effort to change their skin to the darkest color possible. While this can lead to a short term “killer tan” as some people would say, it can also lead to long term damage in the form of wrinkles and sun spots.

Most people will agree it is nearly impossible to avoid the sun. No matter what region of the world you live in, the sun shines in some form or another and it’s impossible to avoid it, even in winter months. There are a few ways you can protect yourself from the sun, of course, the most obvious being using sunblock. In addition to using an spf sunblock, you can wear protective clothing such as hats, sunglasses, or even a bandana wrapped around the face if you are standing in line or in another situation where you are going to receive direct sunlight. Of course, if you are wearing sunblock on a daily basis, which is recommended, especially if you live near the equator, try to find something without any odor or that is light in volume.

Now that we’re straight on how to prevent age spots, sun spots, and one I didn’t mention earlier, liver spots, it’s time we address the topic at hand: how to get rid of them.

Let’s start out by listing a few methods that MAY work to get rid of sun spots.

1. Wrinkle Creams. Most anti wrinkle creams are marketing themselves as an “end all” formula to get rid of wrinkles, fine lines, dark under eye circles, and now, yes, age spots. While anti wrinkle creams may conceal the appearance of sun spots or damage, they will NOT remove them nor treat them therapeutically. Any wrinkle cream marketed as such is simply lying or making up claims that they cannot back up. Look on for a new anti wrinkle solution if there are strong claims such as “age spots” in their list of claims.

2. Chemical Peels. These are becoming very popular, because they work. Performed by a Doctor, these peels are invasive, that is a serious “kicker” to some people, and there can be some pain when it’s performed, but it’s all for a purpose. Chemical peels work to burn off and kill the skin cells on the first layer of skin, allowing new skin that was not damaged underneath to reach the surface, revealing a new look. One person who I asked recently about chemical peels said “it’s like a giant exfoliation project.” Interesting….

One downfall to the chemical peel process is that the entire face needs about a week to slough off the dead skin cells and essentially come back to normal. So if you choose to use this method, be sure you select to do this on a week where you don’t have any important meetings or events planned!

3. Skin brighteners. Usually containing hydroquinone, a skin brightener can essentially lighten the skin. This includes moles, freckles, and of course, age spots. However, skin brighteners have some drawbacks. For starters, while skin brighteners do work, it will take several weeks for results to appear. Then, once results are achieved, they can vanish quite rapidly once the affected area is exposed to the sun.

One proven method to get rid of age spots is microdermabrasion. This process uses a metal brush which drags very fine teeth across the skin, which removes dead skin cells.

Whatever method you use, just keep in mind that it requires patience. Just like the age spots did not appear overnight, they won’t vanish overnight as well.

Preventing wrinkles and developing a skin care routine that is going to effectively delay the onset of the signs of aging is one of the most important factors when it comes to preventing the wrinkles that are associated with the skin.

As we age, the skin loses its ability to maintain high levels of moisture in the skin and this moisture within the skin is the reason that we are able to maintain youthful, wrinkle free skin that isn’t prone to sagging. These high levels of moisture within the skin trigger the production of collagen, which also helps to remain youthful and healthy skin and therefore it is important to ensure that we retain the ability to lock the moisture in the skin as we age. How do you ensure that you moisture is retained in the skin with age? Ensuring that moisture within the skin is maintained, it is important to use moisturizers that can be applied to the surface of the skin, with concentrated ingredients that can help to retain health levels of collagen within the skin.

While starting young, it is important to develop a skin care routine. The skin care routine should consist of a cleanser that can remove the toxins from the skin that can contribute to premature signs of aging, a moisturizer that can be used for daytime to protect against toxins and retain moisture and a night cream that can be used to treat the skin for any potential signs of aging.

Specialized creams that have been designed for specific areas of the face can be an effective way to ensure that you are able to make the most of the skin care products – like those that have been designed for fine lines, dark circles or even excessive dryness through the facial area.

What are some of the most effective ingredients that can be used in the skin care routine for youthful skin to reduce the appearance of aging through the skin? Common ingredients for healthy and youthful appearing skin include antioxidants that can help to remove the toxins from the skin that can contribute to aging. Common antioxidants include Acai Berries, Resveratol, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. Other ingredients are used to preserve the moisture in the skin through an increase in collagen. Collagen Elastin is an important way to maintain the moisture within the skin and therefore it is important to choose products that contain Collagen within the concentrated ingredients to maintain moisture through age.

Over time, as the skin changes it is important to assess these changes and make changes to the products that are used, but also the skin care routines that are seen. Assessing the skin and the needs for the skin can be simple through examination and consultations that are available with dermatologists and cosmetic specialists.
