The word “gold” has a certain level of prestige to it. Gold is a word that just exemplifies beauty, just by hearing the word used in a sentence. We often hear about people “going for gold,” or we hear cliche statements such as “the gold standard,” and of course, the most prestigious honor in the Olympic games is the “gold medal.” Gold is a commodity that is held in high regard by all cultures, an ever-lasting piece of precious metal that is never mistaken for any other element on earth. Gold is guarded under lock and key and passed down from generation to generation.

Gold has always been an item of beauty. The Pharaoh King Tut cherished gold and was perhaps the most infamous collector of gold. King Tut had a golden throne, as well as many gold rings. He was even buried with a funeral mask made of gold, which has become a popular symbol recognized globally.

Historians also traced gold to beauty and healing. Gold is part of Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of natural healing. The system references the usage of gold in curing the body and bringing out inner beauty. For this reason, gold is used by many luxury spa’s as a premier ingredient in their facial therapies.

Gold has many functions when it comes in the form of a skin care treatment. For starters, it is used to promote blood circulation. Another function, perhaps the most important in a line of skin care products, is that gold is used for its rich antioxidant properties. Acting to reverse oxidation damage, gold is used in high-end skin care products to help promote firming of the skin, leaving it shiny and youthful.

Gold also works to transport oxygen molecules directly into the skin, in turn influencing cellular functions and providing skin rejuvenation.

Finally, gold has the ability to stimulate lymphatic drainage and blood circulation, which helps eliminate toxins and leaves the skin purified. After going through a cycle of skin treatments with gold as a primary ingredient, the end result is newly generated, healthy skin cells.
