Skin products are used each and every day by people looking to rejuvenate, protect, and hydrate their skin. Everyone has a different game plan when it comes to skin care, and there are products designed to treat every skin condition known to man.
As a multi-billion dollar industry, skin care products made today don’t just stop at creams and lotions. There are devices and mechanisms made specifically to treat everything from sunburn to acne. While the most popular skin products continue to be daily use creams, the market encompasses so many skin products that it’s really becoming hard to keep track of them all.
For example, did you know that you can treat acne with a light? Baby Quasar, a skin care brand, makes a light therapy treatment that has been working to cure acne when all other methods, such as creams, have failed. This device is sold for $349 but has been the recipient of plenty of positive consumer reviews.
Other skin products that come to mind are the famous “puffy eye mask.” This mask is kept in the freezer and applied to the face upon waking up. If you have tried one of these before, you probably agree that the mask not only helps deflate puffiness, but it also somewhat of a “pick me up” in the morning.
One way companies continue to revolutionize the skin care industry is by using new ingredients. Often times a company will get attention for using an ingredient that has never been used before. Whether the end result equals a better product or not, the attention garnered in the process can really bring a company valuable attention. Some examples that come to mind include La Prairie, makers of an anti aging eye cream product featuring of all things – caviar. Used for it’s antioxidant properties, this is a trait that makes La Prairie unique. While other companies have followed suit, La Prairie remains the pioneer in most people’s minds.
Other examples of companies making waves by differentiating ingredients include EliteSkin, makers of the popular Elite Serum eye treatment. This is the first eye cream product that used resveratrol, the anti-aging super-power ingredient. While this may not even be the best ingredient in the formula, it’s existence shocked many people and led to a lot of media attention. Of course, there are now many companies following EliteSkin’s lead and using resveratrol in their formulas.
Skin products will continue to evolve as companies find new ways to treat the various skin conditions that continue to affect so many people. Luxury Spa’s across the globe continue to impress as well, introducing many skin treatments that use natural elements, such as mud and avocado, to treat skin. In short, skin care is evolving, and it will continue to be a big business until there is a sure-fire way to treat all skin conditions. This probably won’t happen in our lifetime, so it’s a safe bet we’ll be here reporting on new findings in the skin care industry for quite some time!
